another episode of the newbie and the
doobie my name is timmy i am the newbie
mary jane and i am the doobie today is
doctor who day doctor who what
no like really who is doctor who well
that's a good question because
apparently there was lots of them really
yeah apparently there's like 11 of them
well that happens in movies because like
they have to change over
what
yeah it's like a tv show like there's
like 11 now somebody out there right now
is well most likely if we've got
cannabis listeners there's a lot of
doctor who people out there that was a
weird show but anyways the point is
is that um yeah there's like 11 there's
like 11 doctor who's okay i didn't know
this because i grew up watching one
doctor who
and then i find out later on that
there's other doctor who's and they go
through some sort of
like
reincarnation thing or like maybe it's
just like you know you get anointed
so doctor who is more like a title as
opposed to like is it like a butterfly
thing like
when they change the character a
butterfly is born
i don't i don't know how it works i
don't know if they walk into the phone
booth and then pop it now right now
because of the way fandom works yes
there are real doctor who fans out there
with their headphones on going on a jog
listening to this getting frustrated
flipping out going i don't know how it
works that's not how it works because
there are some people within these
fandoms now right now there's a real
doctor who going that's not how we act
that's not how we act
because there is still currently one
there well there's right now one there
is now yeah okay and i think it's like
the 11th so
i knew
the fourth doctor
he was played by tom baker i think i
don't know if you can i like a baker

this i cannot no look over here look

wide-eyed scary wide-eyed curly hair
wore a cool scarf though i thought it
was a doctor i'd be afraid to have him
anywhere near me like are we talking
like surgeon doctor i don't know what
they did i just knew they went into
phone booths traveled
through
no no because they didn't get changed
they went through time like phil and
ted's excellent adventure okay so this
guy i don't know i was i was when he was
on the air let me let me look at my
notes
from 74 to 81 so
i was basically i was growing up okay i
was growing up by the time he left the
air i was uh what eight
eight or whatever so i grew up watching
this guy and when you're a kid it was
super cool i had no id i didn't know it
was it was part of a fandom i didn't
know he was the fourth doctor i didn't
know there were three doctors you didn't
know another one came out i was just
watching the show
so then i got so in my head i've got
this bushy hair cool scarf hat guy big
eyes right that's the doctor then
years later
my oldest daughter
develops this crush on this guy david
tennant
okay and i'm like doctor who right well
i didn't know was a doctor who at the
time i just knew she had a cry and to me
a teenage girl that crushes on a whole
lot of people who knows who they are
especially celebrities right so then it
turns out this guy is a doctor he was
the tenth doctor
okay it's not a bad a bad crush to have
a crush on a doctor right i mean
i think i had a crush on pacey
it was pacey from dawson's creek and he
wasn't even dawson that the show wasn't
even called pacey's cree it should have
been called
what was the girl's name joey no in her
real life
what's her um you know what i'm talking
about
katie holmes yeah it should have been
called katie holmes creek well the whole
story in my opinion was not about dawson
it was about it was about joey
and the love triangle that was between
dawson joey and pacey oh see i didn't
even know about that i wonder if there
was love triangles in doctor who i like
i spent many friday nights the fifth
doctor are all kind of like kind of in
love i don't know i don't know how that
works i don't know i've i spent many
friday nights dedicated to uh not going
out and hanging out with my friends but
watching dawson's creek so if there was
a uh a
comic-con convention of dawson's creek
when you were younger would you have
gone like how people go to like doctor
who to seek doctor at like comic con of
conventions i might have just because it
was cool but you wouldn't have seen like
it wouldn't have dressed up like any one
of the characters i would have just gone
to um to you know to meet the characters
and i really did like that uh pacey is
canadian
well i didn't say josh i did go to a
comic con dressed up like someone okay i
don't usually do the comic-con thing but
there was a small one it was just
starting to try to get itself going down
at this in uh it was like a hotel or
like a i think it was a hotel down in
belleville i remember you telling me
this story you weren't really dressed
well i was dressed like i am right now
this is why i'm wearing the shirt that's
dressed up that's why i'm wearing this
so
i went down to this thing because um a
friend of ours justin monk is his name
he uh he wanted us to go down and we
went down and he told me he says oh you
look like david tennant and i'm like
well that's the guy that you know my
daughter has the crush on so i google
them and i'm like okay i see this day i
didn't see a resemblance okay okay do
you have a photo of him as well do you
have david tennant yeah yeah right here
so you can look over so there's uh
there's some stuff there okay i could
see why she thought he was cute um so
so i go down and i i say to i i tell
them i'm like i don't think i look like
him
and i said i said how would i go to this
comic con he says i think you should
dress up like david tennant and i'm like
well it looks like he just has his suit
on yeah he's wearing a suit and every
one of those so he's like the suit
doctor or something so i put on the suit
did nothing with my hair
no makeup no nothing didn't try to walk
like his mannerisms did nothing
literally walked into a comic-con
wearing
my suit
and people walked past me in the halls
going oh man oh that's awesome you look
exactly like him that was it uh to this
day i don't see the resemblance but but
pete i have to do you not have to trust
the comic-con people
i mean yeah how could you not trust
right people who dress up like
fictional kids they wanted they wanted
you know get pictures of me beside you
know the phone booth
i got a picture of me which i don't know
if i can find it i should try to find
that but a picture of me coming out of
the phone booth
with my suit on and apparently i look
like the the doctor so

list
high five
today's high five list is the top five
characters
that have been played by multiple actors
it's doctor who day and we've talked
about how many doctor who's there have
been yeah um and now we're going to look
at the top five other characters who are
played by multiple actors some of these
are very super they're i guess they're
not surprising to me but i was
interested about how many actors have
played some of these games i mean like
iron man
i'm just kidding like i like iron man
there's only one
there is something
so we talked uh
we talked about doctor who and doctor
who had um
one two three
four five
doctor who kind of
uh had 13 doctors right now
um
unlucky number
it is it is and some stuff happened i
guess on the 13th doctors oh who knows
anyways on his watch but i think it was
her watch i think the 13th doctor was a
woman yeah
so
um
so in the 13 doctors though we've talked
about it earlier in the show we talked
about tom baker being um the doctor that
i remembered uh david tennant was the
one where uh my daughter had a crush on
him
but so there's been 13 um doctors i
don't know if there's been a doctor who
movie though a doctor a doctor movie a
doctor who me a whovi
that's what i wanted to call it let's go
see the doctor who v
so um but these were all on tv but they
had 13 of them all played by different
actors okay
um and i'm using actor in the
generic male female term
but then it gets it gets really
interesting from there i would i thought
oh wow that's a lot of actors playing
one character
until i did a little research
let's go through this list
number five
on my list of characters who have been
played by multiple actors
is actually someone that i don't
actually like to ever talk about
but it's i know who this is
it's the s word in my house
i knew it so we are not allowed to use
the it's it's kind of like he who shall
not be named um
and but i will say it on this one uh
we'll bleep it out maybe if we have to
but it's superman
uh superman i think there's been uh
there's been seven supermans from what i
found out supermen and we're just
talking about we're talking about tv and
movies we're not talking about people
who have maybe voiced them in video
games and you know
oh that would be a lot no i'm literally
i'm just talking about kind of the the
main tv and film
uh world and i might be missing some and
if i am feel free to mention them below
but still a lot of characters have
actually played superman uh who who
would be the superman that you would
most remember clark kent
no
clark kent didn't play superman
someone else played clark kent and then
another actor played superman
because clark kent and superman were two
different people in the same movie
i don't watch superhero movies
so do you know christopher reeves
i know keanu reeves
okay
um christopher reeve uh so christopher
reeve played back he's superman back in
the late 70s early 80s where they had
like superman one two three and i think
there was also a four those are the ones
that i grew up on okay um
and unfortunately i think i forget what
illness he developed um but he had uh he
was wheelchair-bound and so it was a sad
story because he was like superman
and in real life though he had gone
through so not some real struggles
anymore but there was this guy back in
the 60s that almost nobody remembers
kirk allen i don't even know if that's
hey brown scenario back in the 40s even
and then there was george reeve which um
and then there was christopher reeves
and so he are they related
are they fathers are they father's son
could you imagine like they passed the
torch from can we do that right from
like christopher where did they come
from klingon and what's what's george
reeve that's not right either
no it's where they come from
planet
planet what planet krypton okay so oh
wow okay
i okay i did not know this i just found
this out live
they are related right they're not
george reeves
with an ass and christopher reeve
with an e
so not plural
so
george reeves and christopher reeve were
not related in any way but they both
played superman
that's super crazy isn't that super
crazy so anyways yeah we just found
something out there okay so
and then there was uh dean kane did the
character on tv lois and lois and clark
or something like that i remember him
from all those romantic comedies yeah
he's cute and then uh the most recent is
uh henry cavill or cavil or or whatever
he's the guy that's in the the what
about the guy who played on smallville
does that count
because he's well he was super boy okay
he kind of i guess he could kind of
count maybe maybe there's eight because
he was cute too oh yeah i don't know if
he was cute or not i have no idea i
didn't i couldn't like these shows were
not allowed to be watched in my
household at a certain point
now i watched this the superman movies
back in the early 80s because it wasn't
until 1989 that batman came in with
michael keaton and completely and
utterly changed the game and people
realize superman is irrelevant batman is
king and from that day on
it was batman only
so now just for the record there's been
just as many lois lanes as superman's um
so let's give her a little bit of a
shout out here as well
now
if i have that number right around round
seven is what i'm going with
the next one up is a tie once again as
far as i know
james bond had seven characters now
james bond has been going on since like
the 60s
how many bonds can you name

how many james how many james bond

yeah that's it's not my movie genre no i
know connery that's about it sean
connery he's a classic bond like the
only one i could probably okay roger
moore
no 70s and 80s that was the the bond i
knew um char not charles bronson where
do you say charles charlton heston no no
no he's really old the bronson guy
charles pierce bronson pierce brosnan oh
the guy from miss
um no yeah maybe was he yeah he was from
uh remington steel back in the 80s not
my pierce bros and then daniel craig
oh he's still is he not still i think
he's did that he did the latest one yeah
and the debate is whether or not you'll
come back so but then there's like
there's this guy niven and lazanby
nobody knows and then there's dalton the
guy who did one in the 80s was which was
which was horrible anyway

um timothy dalton actually good name
timmy dalton
so there were like seven bonds connery
is very well known moore is well known
and then you got brosnan and craig who
are in that recent category if we move
one more level up according to my
particular research we've got robin hood
and robin hood has been played by
multiple characters um i grew up because
i was watching i know one of those
because that is
oh no
this is it's satire right is comedy oh
yeah no it counts i know who you're
thinking about that's the only one i
know
right um let me just get his name right
though i wrote it down carrie you'll eat
luez
oh kevin costner
kevon kevon
who are you talking about
wait for for prince of thieves yeah
wasn't it that's not a comedy
but it's not
no no which one was it men in tights men
in tights was was actually came out two
years later so prince of thieves was a
very serious kind of um
uh
robin hood thing with kevin with kevon
costner i feel like this is another um
and then they didn't mention lights a
couple of years later where um where it
was it was made fun of
kevin costner it was some blonde guy
with a mustache
he was hot
right everybody that's that's why dirk
james bond and they're superman and
they're supposed to be hot nobody's ever
seen a uh james bond with like buck
teeth oh no we have yes we have
austin powers okay so
no that's an austin powers that's
totally different errol flynn was a guy
that i know um he was back in like the
30s though my dad we used to watch these
old black and white movies and he was
somebody that i knew watched sitting
there watching movies with my dad
um but kevin costner um there's a guy
from men in tights russell crowe did a
2010 one and then sean connery was also
a robin hood now sean connery is a james
bond and a robin hood which is
absolutely amazing so
as we move on on to now number two on
our list that was number five four and
three
number two on our list
um has
eight as far as i know again not
counting games and stuff but now we're
getting into the king of kings here and
we're getting into batman
now there is only one batman let's get
the record straight
there there is only one and can only be
one it is michael keaton okay if you are
not if michael keaton is not your batman
keep social distancing forever he
literally created
the phrase
i
am
batman right like it didn't it may have
existed prior to that but not in the
magnitude with his voice
yeah so um what's his name uh robert
downey jr who plays iron man he's hot
too right
so he he literally
said he ad-libbed i am iron man in the
iron man movie they weren't there wasn't
in the script
and i was like oh that's awesome you
know where he got it from
i'm batman he just lengthened it out and
said i am iron man anyways so batman so
there's michael keaton but other people
have played him um and i wouldn't want
to play batman now because everybody's
going to be compared to this icon
so we have we have adam west who's
probably i think the second greatest
batman very iconic from the tv show
there's a couple other batman's back in
the 40s
which i can't remember their names um
and then we got we had kilmer and
clooney
all right i love clooney he had a
horrible script
i i don't blame that movie on clooney at
all kilmer did really good
from like here down
from like
kilmer had the right jaw yeah then
there's christian bale who did one of
the greatest trilogies of all time that
was dark it was super dark i couldn't
watch that
way different than not my genre no none
of this is
and then of course we've got ben affleck
we don't want to talk about the ben
affleck although i will give him some
credit we've talked about batman in past
episodes ben affleck has not screwed up
batman as much as i thought he would
he's no michael keaton but none of these
guys are but i will say as a as a
disgruntled older
bitter batman
ben affleck plays a disgruntled bitter
angry soul very very well so now there's
almost as many cat women as batman and
two catwoman so we'll put that in there
as well so batman so what we've got now
so we have
superman and james bond at seven robin
hood and batman at eight and then we
would slip in doctor who there but we've
already talked about him and which
brings us to number one on this list
sherlock holmes
i thought for sure it would have been
spiderman sherlock holmes how many
people do you think have played sherlock
holmes over the years just a quick guess

okay there might even be more game tie
46 different people this character has
been being played um since the early 30s
okay get this
sherlock holmes is the most portrayed
literally literary human character in
film and tv history with over 250 films
and television shows to the thing okay
the only the only character that comes
close to that uh is dracula who comes in
it's over 200 but but nobody remembers
dracula's been around very very very
long piano reeves was in a dracula movie
back in like that
uh maybe early 90s or whatever anyways
we're going to talk about that another
reeve
so here here we here we look at the
sherlock holmes some of them you might
know so basil rathborn played in
16 sherlock holmes films so he's like
he's been he was known for sherlock
holmes for a decade back in the 30s and
the 40s just i think it was like from 39
right through the 40s
then there was a bunch of them sherlock
holmes has never died christopher
plummer is maybe an actor that maybe
you've heard of
um but the most recent ones ian mckellen
actually um did one in 2015.
robert downey jr who you believe is hot
he did two of them in 2009 and 11.
um will ferrell actually did um in was
it uh was it sherlock and homes
or homes
homes in something yeah 2018 and then of
course there's benedict cumberbatch uh
who is uh did the t no the tv show was
actually really good i swear that man is
an alien
well he could be there's something about
him that is just not right
look from somebody who used to be human
let me just say that i don't i i don't
like when people immediately make
questions i'm sorry i'm sorry i
shouldn't even upset anything so i
actually prefer him now as dr strange
but uh i actually really enjoyed this
the show sherlock that's a horrible so
there you go there you go the top five
literary or like just characters that
have been played by more than one
character or more than one actor and
that's what that's what we got there

sherlock holmes and of course doctor who
that we are celebrating today anything

no but i do want to add something

and i think she was trying to take this

i need more than five we'll do like a

it was a good high five list that's five

well it is that time again a time
where i get to learn
along with you
it is time for teaching timmy with mary
jane it's my favorite time
what do you have to teach me today we
are going to learn about how to pop
these little babies right here
now for those on podcast there are no
real babies lying on the table these are
in fact
seeds they are they're cannabis seeds
these three
aren't they now these seeds were
actually found in some cannabis flower
that i grew outside
and
they got pollinated so we're going to
pop the seed and see
if we can get a plant and then we're
going to find out later on if that plant
is male or female like we're going to
find out later on in this episode no
later we have to grow the plants first
this is the first stage if you want to
start a cannabis plant from seed okay so
we don't know weed
we weed i seed what you did there
okay so this seed right now yes
you have there's no way to tell whether
or not this is a male or a female plant
there are theories on you know if it's
shaped a certain way if it has a dent on
the bottom um i personally i there's no
way to tell until you grow the plant
they look like little um
uh they look like clam shells they have
they have this very
unique like look of like clam shells
we'll post never seen on our social
media sometime during the week of this
upload we'll make sure that we post a
picture of the seeds i think they're
very cool looking yeah they have some
really intricate markings on them and
some people can say uh that you can
actually tell what the plant will look
like and that stuff but those are like
master growers oh just before you move
on from this yes um i was watching a
video with darren brown you and i have
been watching darren brown
the british magician illusionist
mentalist mentalist yeah yeah so he had
this thing where he reached his hand
into a bowl of
rice and was able to pull out the exact
number of rice just with one pickup
and so i just wanna i've never tried

okay okay so there are many different
ways to pop seeds back in school they
taught us to taught us about the paper
towel method right okay take some paper
towel and just ripping it to make it
smaller
what kind of school did you go to that
taught you how to grow weed well not
cannabis seeds they taught us with like
beans and and stuff like that right okay
so just i'm gonna i'm gonna try to
keep our podcast listeners up to speed
as you
go through this thing i'm basically it's
a plate i'm about to describe this oh
you're going to are you going to do my
job
because you're supposed to be learning
i'm supposed to be i was thinking i was
going to move into like kind of like the
the color commentator like in a sports
thing where you would explain kind of
one thing i'd kind of give more of the
visual picture of what is going on but
but if you're going to actually explain
it i will gladly sit back yeah i'm
really worried about it i will i will
explain that little seed so what i've
done is i have a plate in front of me
and i've
torn up two pieces of paper towel in
half and put them on the plate i then
took some water and made sure that the
paper towel was
pretty wet as you can see if you watch
it on youtube it's dripping i'm just
gonna wring it out a little bit so it's
damp
moist i don't want it dripping
not dripping
just moist pretty wet
yes okay
so
we've got four little pieces of paper
towel here i'm gonna peel up the first
layer yep and set it aside i'm gonna
peel up the second layer and set it
aside so i've got two layers now yeah i
feel like this is a okay i have a
feeling this is a magic trick this feels
like it's setting up where it's like oh
there's a cannabis plant right here okay
so we're gonna take a couple cannabis
seeds and we're gonna drop them onto the
paper towel
spread out a little bit because we want
them to have room to grow
room to sprout okay so they're spread
out a little bit um here i have a
plastic paper bag plastic not paper a
plastic ziploc plastic paper bag the
wave of the future it is a magic trick
no
it's a sandwich bag or a ziploc bag
we're probably plugged
yeah actually would you mind that was
the next question as a learner i don't
have to just like look with my eyes yeah
so i'm going to take the paper towel
that i've set aside that's wet and i'm
going to just lay it on top of the seeds
so i've got my five cannabis seeds on
top of two wet pieces of paper towel
place another wet piece of paper towel
over top of that so you've got two on
top two on the bottom
then we're gonna place the wet paper
towel into the
plastic paper bag just kidding into the
plastic sandwich bag
hey where's my watch
that's right
that kind of trick where she's gonna
like although yeah he is pretty amazing
that darren guy you talk
i don't want to say you taught us how to
do it because we did
so now we've got our ziploc bag with the
seeds inside nice this is one way to
propagate to make can or sorry to
germinate cannabis seeds okay i'm not
going to tell you what you do with this
yet because all of these methods
is going to be the same end result so oh
if you choose to do this is just one way
this is one way to do it this is wet
paper towel in a sandwich bag that's the
official scientific
term
okay then we have a couple other methods
i'm gonna grab some more paper towel
i've still got water on my plate which
is good i'm gonna need it
once again i don't want to use too much
paper towel so i'm just tearing these
into smaller pieces
taking two pieces and putting them on
the wet plate
i think i have too much water on my
plate but that's okay because i'm going
to use the leftover water
for the other method okay
so if you were doing this and just using
the plate itself and the paper towel you
wouldn't want excess water left over
so i'm just going to
put the excess water in here because
we don't want it on the plate if there's
too much water people say you can
actually drown your seeds
which is interesting because of the
other method of popping seeds i'm going
to show you is
contradictory to
the drowning of the seeds and we'll see
in a bit so we've still got these four
little pieces of paper towel we're gonna
put two on the bottom
two on the top we're gonna take a couple
seeds
spread them out
you can do as many as you like as long
as you have enough paper towel to put
over top
timmy yes i did the first one
this is a little bit wetter
still too wet i don't want it dripping
so we're going to take the two pieces of
paper towel for the top and i'm going to
give those to you
and i'm going to let you put them on top
of the seeds on top of the plate on top
of the table on top of the floor yes on
top of the flat earth yeah and you're
not going to press down you don't want
to suffocate the seeds you literally
just want to give them that's like
dampness over top no pressure no
pressure no pressure no oh got it
nicely done thank you high five thank
you so um you're going to take this i'm
just
tapping the bottoms there because you
want it wet inside
but you don't want to like tap in the
bottom so that it's wet inside attack
the bottom of the babies okay so we're
just going to set that one aside too
okay um
you're like what are we doing i already
have a question
but you might be answering it later so
should i wait you should should maybe
wait or ask the question and i'll tell
you if i'm yeah no because i want to
know
what is the
difference or the better or worse of
this these two systems the one on the
plate and the one in the bag are the
exact same except one is in a sealed bag
and one is designed i wasn't going to
answer this later so i'm glad you
brought it up that's what i do on this
show
this is why we have a new beach exactly
why yeah so so so
to me they're both the exact same just
one isn't closed one is open okay so
after three days of leaving these two
set aside somewhere what's going to
happen to this one on the plate
versus this one in the back
what's gonna happen with the paper towel
timmy
the one on the plate i believe even
though i didn't attend science class
very often is that this will dry out
this one will still stay a little bit
moist exactly so if you choose the plate
method
excuse me if you choose the plate method
you're going to have to ensure that you
check on it
every couple you know oh you're cuz you
gotta constantly keep it down you have
to make sure it's moist okay but why
would you
in a world of convenience
why would anybody choose the plate one
over the bag one if this one is gonna
take like this daily observance because
you may not want it to be too moist like
i mentioned before about the drowning of
the seeds right i always use the the
this because i i personally don't
believe that you can drown your seeds
because i'll show you the method i'll
show you the method that i use in the
end and you'll be like
okay there's no way that works but it
does and this is another method that
i'll show you in just a minute um so i'm
just going to borrow actually i'll just
use this here is
a grodan it's that's the name of it it's
a grodan grow block
this one actually is a small it comes in
long strips and i just tore off one
little one so i could show you so say it
again what is it it's a grow it's a grow
block by grow dan okay um it's made
with this like
oh it's it's grow medium insulation it
does kind of look like insulation but it
is safe for plants it's what it's made
for and you would absorb
water
into the block
just gonna use some more water so you're
putting it into a little plastic cup
plastic paper cup the reason why i'm
putting it into a cup is just because i
don't want to make a mess
okay
so you're just getting that damp just
like how you would with the just paper
towels paper towel and
damp but not dripping so it comes with
this little thing around it nope no i
don't know if i don't know
you don't need it magic it's gone i'm
telling you there's got to be somebody
needs to be able to put together a magic
trick okay if you're a magician out
there while she's getting ready here we
need to know how to make cannabis

what we would like to do is create as
i'm watching this i'm like this is like
the perfect setup for some sort of magic
trick just with the way of like folding
it we might know there's gonna be five
seeds see the seeds right put them in a
bag put it off to the side oh what
happened what was in the bag what the
face of spades
i wish i had a cannabis plant just to
like pull over right here right now so

get it if he's a magician he should be
mad yeah that's how we know we'll weed
out the good magicians
if you're a really good magician your
business card will disappear beside the
bed right all right that's where all
important things show up
okay okay so
so this here you can also use instead of
the grodin grow block you can use do you
remember this
these are peat pucks timmy's might have
seen these before yes um yeah so we
actually had little plants yeah the baby
plants were put in something exactly so
you can add water to these and they turn
out like big brown marshmallows yes
and they have holes in the top basically
like this
um there's a hole in the top there the
only reason i would use the gro dan
block over the
peat puck is if i was growing in water
over
um like a soil or a pro mix okay because
if i'm growing in pro mix i want to use
the peat puck only because that's what
i'm most comfortable with i've used it
the most often
i've got the most experience with it so
that's what i use generally
however you can use the grow damn blocks
as well and they're nice because they
already have a little hole as you can
see
um i'm just using my little nut sheller
here i was going to ask you if you knew
what that was this actually is a special
tool i i thought it was a dab rig all
right
no you actually said it right you said a
dab tool
a dab tool yes it's not a dab rig no the
tool puts into the rig and that's right
it smells like a dab cool but it's not
it's just for like almonds apparently
when you crack when you crack them the
walnuts you can take this little tool
and and like get them nuts i had those
when i was young well i've seen this at
a secondhand store and i was like i
wonder if these were the original
dabbers
if this is what because cannabis
consumers are so you know in innovative
that they'll grab whatever and use it
for now that looks like it'll work for
what i needed what's that oh it's for my
walnuts
right
right so i'm just going to use the other
side i just wanted to make sure that
there was a big enough hole um do you
want to pick what seed you want to put
this it's all magic because now i'm
going wait a minute she's going to force
the seeds
i'm going to pick that one no you chose
the wrong seed i'm just kidding put that
in did you put that in i'm going to put
it in one how many kinds of no just one
oh just one just one one goes in that
entire
cube do you want more than one in there
fighting for that little space
well there's five in the bag but we're
we're going to take each one of those
after and put them in their own little
all right this is just to germinate so
you wouldn't want to put too many in
there because then they'd all be
fighting for room in there
right okay
so we're just gonna leave that puck
aside
so
three okay so three minutes two methods
i guess sort of because there's wet
paper towel
and then there is the um grow medium the
grow cube
substrate grow grow medium whatever it
is um and then
my favorite this is how i do it
i have got to be one of the laziest
growers around
i'm just gonna there's a benefit to that
i'm gonna admit it i don't water my
plants enough
um
sometimes i don't give them enough food
but i don't ever kill anything
but this is how you learn this is how i
learn anyways
making mistakes
but this is not a mistake okay somebody
told me you're gonna drown your seeds
and i'm like
i don't think so
if you take a cup of water
you can take your seeds
you're just gonna pour them all in the
cup of water and just drop them into the
cup of water
that's super easy
the trick
with doing it this way
is to make sure
that every day you come and you replace
the water
it's got to be clean water don't leave
it stagnant
and
the key with all of these
is a
dark
warm location
because they need almost like you know
babies in the belly with the incubator
when there is no light
they're craving it they're trying to
root right so they will go searching for
the light and they'll pop open
so depending on where you have it heat
light
um
how you care for them make sure they
stay wet
um
three four days
so three four days from now we're going
to you'll see a tail okay so right now
we have in front of us
paper towel
sealed in a plastic paper bag i always
find it funny that some of them float
we have paper
towel just on a plate i did it all but
you got to what but you got to watch
this one daily to make sure that it just
stays
dampish
we've got the grow puck or the grow
that is the grow block the grow block
cube
one goes in there
and but you have to and you have to make
sure this is damp daily too yep
so the only one you don't have to check
on daily is
the the plastic bag sealed up well
technically you should still check on it
daily because if
it only takes a day for your seed to
sprout you don't want to leave it in
there too long because the tail is going
to get so you're really you're looking
to see if it's grown and then you've got
just basically a cup of water with a
boatload of seeds in there yeah i always
find it interesting some of them float
this one seems like so the cup one
though
i think when you say i'm lazy the cup
one just seems
way more reasonable
i i personally i like the cup one um
mostly because then i can
you know sometimes i forget i'm dating a
comedian
what can i eat this guy
okay
all right so there you go so four ways
and so this is so uh what have i learned
today how to how to pop a seed how to
pop a seed and we're gonna we're gonna
have to um
take photos and post progress of this
all right we'll put that up so when this
uh when this podcast gets launched um go

newbie and the doobie we are very
excited today to have our guest shock
claire in the house a lot of the artists
they just work together because they
just see the prosperity in it like
there's a lot of people that
you know wouldn't be able to like some
other their life would not even be close
to what it is if they didn't get into
music and i would also even say with
music especially hip-hop music um
you know like the way that it's brought
people together because of hip-hop is a
culture
it's not like it's not like like you
have pop culture where everybody
gets what was that twitter twitter thing
with those fidgets
like that's the pocketbook
yeah that's a popcorn but the hip-hop
culture thing is like
how you
like just how you move how you wear your
hood your hoodie you you could wear your
hat backwards if you want this your
jeans that and then it doesn't matter
who and what they could be asian they
could be white they could be black they
could be from russia they could be from
anywhere anywhere you're in hip-hop
culture like keras one would say rap is
something you do hip-hop is something
you live and that is what god and then
that's what like when people can respect
people like the beastie boys and
uh oh man i'm gonna say his name wrong
but it was a guy or 90s rapper his name
was called like milk bone he was one of
the first white rappers
uh third base with mc search and all
these guys and going into eminem and
then all the others that came in because
it was a cultural thing so i can say
that's one thing that hip-hop really has
done is that it brought people together
because everybody just
grew love off of the music in japan
sometimes they don't even know i was
watching old public enemy uh videos and
they're people in japan or they don't
even know what he's saying they just
love the fact i'm sure they know what
he's saying so that's probably a bit
ignorant on my part but uh
but like you know in japan yeah and
they're listening to hip-hop and it
brings everybody together and that's one
thing i can say that hip-hop has been
very very contributive towards is like
just bringing people together because it
doesn't matter if you love rap you love
hip-hop and then look how it merged and
you had limp biscuits and corns and all
these other rock groups that were
implementing implementing wrapping their
rock and this to where now it's like
you don't even need to have there's not
like you might have a favorite you might
like punk you might like rock you might
like this you might like hip-hop but
really you could go
to a concert
uh
with like a festival with everybody on
oh i want to go and see the google dolls
and i also want to go and see you know
biscuit but oh method man is going to be
there too and so is public enemy and i
want to see them too
and and that's what i think hip-hop has
brought to uh brought to you brought to
the forefront uh because it's a whole
cultural thing
of people rather than just being like a
targeted
you know like you have to dress look and
be this one way to love this type of
stuff you know it's interesting the
whole time i'm listening to you talk i'm
like yup
that's very much like cannabis yep
that sounds like cannabis too yup and
it's so it's so true and i was like i
never
i i think music in general but you're
you're so right when you have like a
culture like hip-hop because it is its
own culture that it it does it unites
people in a way that you can feel safe
and comfortable around you know people
that maybe you might not normally talk
to because they look different or work
in a different spot or just act
different than and and you can become
one in this
in this space and just be kind of like
together it's really nice
yeah and uh just even with the cannabis
thing it's like
uh
very quick
truck broke down in saskatchewan i don't
even know it was near moose jaw but i
don't even know where it was so like i
wouldn't even be able to tell you what
it was stayed at one of those hotels
where you go and uh drive by and you're
like who the hell would stay at that
hotel
we stayed at that hotel
but i was on board i was uh touring with
the
guys who were part of this
mountain dew thing so we had skaters so
the extreme stuff and they had a half
ramp
that's called a half ramp or half pipe
uh half pipe in in the back
so we're staying there and we pulled out
the half pipe so they could go and skate
and
these guys are into whatever whatever
they're all into and
and uh then there's two people that
actually were actually staying there
before we got there came out
bear down to their chin looking like an
extended zz top uh just comment out and
just like
there or whatever
you know we go and we have a little bit
of one two one twos right there and then
um we were best friends all night like
it was like the best thing like these
guys are sitting there doing you know uh
i don't know handstands and grind
grinders or whatever it's called and
stuff
and me and this guy with the beard down
here and the other one with the
ponytails out to here right there we're
just sitting there like yeah man yo
do you watch did you ever watch archie
bunker in full and all in the family and
stuff like that he's like yeah
and i was like yeah and then we just got
into our whatever so again it just
brought two different
lifestyles
together and the funny thing is is that
he still gives me shouts out on facebook
everyone he's like hey what's up
he's like yo it's don't say he'll
message me i'll be like yo it's zz top
saying what's up and i'm like oh what's
up i remember you that's great
we're still good and this is like going
back 10 plus years and that's even if
that's the way that we just connect but
that's how we connect so it's great
because everybody's just cool and
peaceful and isn't that why they call it
the peace pipe back in the day and stuff
i don't know
